Is it wrong of me to ponder?

Moments my mind likes to conjure

My head loves to play pretend

and sadly, I’m already envisioning the end

Hard to see past what I already know

Even tho, there’s so much in the unknown

How will you hold me when things aren’t well?

Only time can help me tell

What if I don’t have the time to give?

And can’t live on a hope and a wish?

What if you can’t give me what I need?

Because I can not live on relationship repeat

Sure, my heart is full of flutters

And feels more than feelings for others

It's easier to picture the ending before we began

For what if I leap and there’s no place to land?

So many what ifs are tied to you

But to thine own self I must be true

Undeniable magnatism I've not felt in years

Here's to hoping this won’t end in tears
