Flower in the Rain
A poem about new beginnings
The flower embalms me
As life seems to cease existing
The flower opens to the light
After days of being in the dark
The light is faint
But the light is there
But will the light last
Or will it be quenched again
But what is this
This is a new kind of darkness
It seems as if a rainstorm
Has just touched the flower
The flower doesn’t know
Or understand
What is happening
Quite the tsunami of feeling
Quite the tsunami of fear
But what’s to be afraid of
It’ll only hurt a little
The pain is brief
And the flower will be watered
The flower wants to wilt
The pain so unbearable
But the pain comes with a new feeling
The flower begins to blossom
But why is this
Why does it blossom
In a time of pain
In a time of new beginnings
Oh wait
The rainstorm is already over
That was quick
But wonderful
The flower feels new
The flower feels fresh
And the flower only hurts a little
But that was the best rainstorm
The flower had ever seen
Always remembered
Always loved
Always pictured
Under that beautiful full moon
