Flower in the dark

The moment I exited my mother's womb,

I opened my eyes and only found gloom.

For me, there was no way out, no lightning spark;

the universe would stay dark.

My pupils might never reflect light;

it didn't mean I couldn't fall in love at first sight.

The first moment you entered the room,

I felt my love for you bloom.

My ears synchronized with your heartbeat

and the music made by your two feet.

Before I even touched your skin.

My head swirled around in a spin.

There's an aura about you that makes my blood burn.

Each time you leave, I ache for your return.

Each time you are near, I find your scent.

Each time you are away, I hunt you down like a hound.

It's stronger than me; I need you in my present.

It does not matter if I can't see you. We are bound.
