Flow with the Stream

The sea is too unpredictable

You want me to be wild like the sea,

But I don’t think I’ve got that in me.

Although I long to see the coral,

It’s too fast for me.

Don’t get me wrong: I like to be free,

But I can’t take the current of the sea.

So can we just flow with the stream?

I like to be where it’s shady,

The sea is too unpredictable,

There are wishes I can’t fulfill,

But when I fall, I fall hard and you may not be able to save me.

I can’t take the sea’s fury,

Believe me, I’m passionate

But I’d rather flow with the stream where nature happens calmly.

From here I can watch the flowers grow, I can spot the tiny buds.

I can hear the crickets and I can see the butterflies,

I can watch the leaves turn from green to colourful cascades,

I can feel the softness of snow

And bear cold till the flowers grow.

But I can see the snowdrops,

It can be just as natural,

When they said about mermaids, that was all just fictional.

I am no Princess or Queen of the Sea.

Can we flow with the stream?

We can work a dream,

Are you with me?

You’ll have to give up this fantasy.

I don’t want to be selfish, but I am safe with the stream,

So you can flow with me

Or you can dive in the sea.
