FIVE SENSES OF LOVE – A LEARNING CURVE
TOUCH
Exit the womb.
Feel change in pressure and temperature.
Feel touch of air against skin.
Feel that slap on your butt.
Feel the pain.
Feel shock.
Feel fear.
Feel being touched.
SOUND
Responding to the feel of hand against skin.
You hear you cry. No. You scream.
From pain, from shock, from fear, from being touched.
Finally here in view, into the light of day.
Hear your cries replaced.
The doctor, the nurses, Mom, Dad.
Hear the oohs and ahhs of loving approval.
Hear the love. Love the sound of love.
SMELL
Too young to identify.
Still able to differentiate.
The smells of hospital sanitation,
Operating room odor, alcohol and Lysol
Mothers breast, Dad’s bad breath.
Can you smell that? It smells like love.
TASTE
Someday we’ll savor the flavor of life.
From sweet to sour, from salty to peppery.
From acidic to alkaline, from spicy to bland.
All aspects and facets of palette will manifest.
For now, but one craving.
Milk.
Mothers milk.
Tastes like love.
SIGHT
Eyes open is not enough to see.
The gift of sight needs reference.
Engage the brain.
Train.
Learn.
Remember.
Focus.
Everything you see is love.
