First Love’s

And Regret

That’s when you told me that you loved me too

It’s a little too late to change your mind

To return to the soil that first held you

**

I poured out everything I was for you

It’s a little too late to be on time

That’s when you told me that you loved me too

**

Feeling contented changing red from blue

It’s never too late to choose being kind

To return to the soil that first held you

**

Shared sorrows came too late to set us free

But not too late for you to change my mind

That’s when you told me that you loved me too

**

You smiled broadly when you said we were through

Now I am someone I want to rewind

To return to the soil that first held you

**

Time to refocus and be something new

Only now I regret that I was blind

That’s when you told me that you loved me too

To return to the soil that first held you
