I created this piece about fire to shine a light on its history as an element. There are other philosophies, but these are the ones that stood out to me personally.

The element fire represents things that destroy according to Japanese philosophy. Each element in Japanese philosophy stands for something that happens in nature. With the understanding that fire stands for destruction, it brings a sense of longing to understand what destruction is. In my eyes, fire is a beautiful thing, that when used wrong has consequences. Just like destruction can be demolishing an old building that was going to fall on its own. Destruction or to destroy to me does not have to be a negative thing, just a natural process in life, so seeing it as a representation

The fire was also seen as a heat or energy content, and as a material element, it was noted as temperature. It was later characterized as fire, According to Buddhism.

.

Fire is like darkness

its feared and louder at night,

Coexist with light.

.

Fire burns down buildings,

yet melts matter to create,

once it is contained.

.

Fire can not wield fire,

fire is simply a weapon,

Put in the wrong hands.

.

Fire stands for something,

destruction, the element,

Joyful smores to kids.
