Finding the way back

Whole and complete

We come into this world whole and complete,

Into the arms of a couple, broken, but sweet.

They raise us to follow their unconscious ways,

Then we struggle to find love for the rest of our days.

The human experience charges a toll,

The price that we pay is detachment from soul.

The farther we stray from the comfort inside,

The more lost we become on this humanly ride.

We find pleasure and promise in money and stuff,

Just to find out eventually it's still not enough.

We look for more items to fill up our shelves,

We will never find love outside of ourselves.

Maybe a person will fill up our soul,

We seek out each other to conquer this goal.

But the others have just enough love for their own,

The answer is not here, we still feel alone.

Seek solace in books that enlighten your mind,

The teachings are endless, the words soft and kind.

For some the enlightenment answers the call,

Others can't grasp the ideas at all.

The love that we seek can't be bought in a store,

Or taken from people we love and adore.

Seeking answers in books might give you a start,

But the ultimate love flows within your own heart.

Some people retrieve this love early enough,

To see through all of this humanly stuff.

The money, relationships, tangible things,

Just shallow ideas unconsciousness brings.

Peace and love are ours right from birth,

Not something we will ever find here on earth.

Beautiful gifts given free to us all,

Ready and waiting to answer the call.

When you hit rock bottom in this humanly well,

And there is nothing to quench this empty hell.

The knowing we strayed from when we were born,

Anxiously awaits our inevitable return.

If you are enlightened enough to find your way home,

To the greatest love you have ever known.

And the breath still flows in and out of your lungs,

Then you are one of the fortunate ones.

The human journey is a marvelous ride,

It's up it's down it's near and wide.

But the ultimate goal and arduous feat,

Is to leave this world, whole and complete.
