Finding peace in the violence

calmness during silence

By Kiesha’s DiaryPublished 10 months ago 1 min read

calmness during the silence.

finding peace in the violence.

he comes home to apologise

gifting her with a bouquet of black eyes

it is hard to think how it got this far without a split

but she was so blinded by the house he built…

she never noticed the locked door

did not realise her home would be the front line of a war

when they first met she was flattered that it was her he had picked

she immediately accepted the roses and ignored the thorns that pricked

he became possessive. it started with checking her phone

to the point where her home is no longer her safety zone

he demands that she obeys and says “okay”

she must do it with a smile or she will definitely pay

she will never hit back

but still he will attack

sometimes the words hurt more than his fists

more than a knife ever will from cutting wrists

endless what ifs

endless conflicts

it is easier to stay than ever leave

maybe she was too naive

he is an award winning actor for his on cue fake tears

“why would you leave me behind after all of these precious years”

now she dismisses the fact that he just beat her so hard that she saw stars

then she runs back to where she belongs. in his arms

calmness during the silence.

finding peace in the violence.

sad poetry
