There were fragments
Scattered in her mind
Charms if stumbled upon
Awakened a memory
A moment from long ago
That had been left
Unbothered
By passing days-
A picture perfect vision
Awakened by luscious scents
And the feeling of dirt
Against bare toes,
The vision of sun burning
Off of a clear pond,
Awaiting its next disturbance,
A pebble to drop
And ruin the reflection,
Creating something new
From a pool once ignored-
Recollecting the calm
That had existed before new steps
Sounded with a new beat
A dance desired to be danced
Before the clock’s tick changed
And the pond was lost
For the concrete path
And the wide open view
From a glass window-
Placed sparingly
Against a white wall
That she hopes
Will tumble down-
Revealing the charms
She wishes to gather again
In later days.

I could feel the warm dirt between my toes - closed my eyes and remembered days at Belleville Pond! Wonderful job. Thanks.
