Pure Heart of Feelings

A flame that burns too bright, too fast, A love too wild, too rash to last. In fleeting glances, hearts do race, But substance hides without a trace. With promises whispered in the night, A fire that dazzles, bold and light. Yet underneath the shining glow, No roots beneath for love to grow. A fantasy that tempts the mind, But leaves the heart alone to find, That what was built on fleeting lust, Will crumble soon, return to dust. Fatuous love, a brief affair, A spark that fades without repair. For in the end, when passion’s gone, It leaves no light to linger on.
