Fathers Need Daughters
A Poem
Fathers need daughters
They make the heart fonder
Sometimes, I used to wonder
When you would come
We waited so long for you
But then you came
And our life was never the same
Love and chaos now reign in your name
But I’ve loved you before I met you
From the moment I saw your eyes
I knew you were my sweetheart
My little Juliebean
A little beauty queen
You can be so messy when you “clean”
But I would ask for no one else to be my daughter
I would say you shine like no other
But you’re light comes from your mother
Sometimes you like to smother us with your kisses
But you’ve been better than all the wishes
I could ask for in a daughter
I will always be proud to be your father
