Family Fate
Always argumentative but always together

Family Fate
There was laughter in the kitchen
Steam against the evening glass
Nothing told us while it happened
How quickly ordinary passed
One wrong turn and one distraction
A moment nobody could save
Life can split without permission
Leaving names above a grave
The chairs remained around the table
Plates untouched for days and weeks
Grief became another language
Spoken mostly through our cheeks
People said that time moves onward
Like moving somehow means repair
Yet some losses keep their heartbeat
Long after nobody is there
Family stories changed direction
Photos gained another face
Every gathering held a silence
Standing in a missing place
Still we carried one another
Through days too heavy to explain
Learning fate does not ask questions
It simply arrives and leaves again
Now when sunlight enters windows
And voices fill the house once more
Love remains in quiet corners
Waiting gently at the door
