Fair-weather Friend
"You look no different than the day we met."
I was enjoying my evening.
Relaxing in my gray, circular chair.
Scrolling through the internet.
Planning for the week ahead.
Almost wrapping up my night.
Then your face came across my screen.
Very familiar yet so estranged because.
Your round cheeks and half smile.
They're so unseemly and fabricated in this picture.
I know you aren't this charming.
I know your eyes don't glow.
It pisses me off the more I think about it.
The way you choose to slip in and out.
The way you only walk in fair-weather.
The way you are exactly like this picture.
Fake.
It's disturbing to think that I believed.
That when push comes to shove.
That the one my life could sympathize with.
That he would be my friend.
Now I'm more disturbed.
By the fact that in this picture.
You look no different than the day we met.
