Fading Into the light

As one life ends ...

Something feels different

I can't seem to speak,

as I watch how you tremble

then kiss my cold lips.

*

I notice the teardrops

spill out from your eyes

When they rest on my tongue

there's no salted surprise.

*

All my senses are failing,

my heart pulsing weak.

Silver threads hold my soul

as I leave you to weep.

*

But a new light appears,

as your sweet beauty fades

I see angels hold hands in the sun.

*

So I follow thier path

through this arch made of stars -

do not cry for me. Now I'm with God
