Expectations

I find it odd how man complains like so,

And then does nothing to relieve their burden.

Irresponsibility should be a sin against God himself;

To have a problem that strains life like an invisible leash

That chokes the throat of its occupant over something as stupid

As self-pity.

I find it odd how water is avoided unless it is

Just

The

Right

Temperature.

Pleasing to the skin.

Only ever loved when perfect.

Silly humans,

Nothing is ever absolutely satisfying to your kind.

If it is perfection you desire,

Stop wasting your time.

I find it odd how war still exists

in tandem with peace.

A soldier in battle has no consolation,

As a small, fortunate babe knows nothing of the horrors of war.

Both so fragile.

Neither boasts witness to perfection.

Tis never going to be enough if we expect the world.

And after all,

The world isn’t expecting us.

The Ocean is magical,

And so is reading,

I find Shakespeare worth repeating. 😇

I find Shakespeare worth repeating. 😇
