Existential Evanescence
Existential Evanescence
In the vast expanse of the cosmos,
A speck of dust we call home,
We mortals dwell, ephemeral beings,
Contemplating our fate unknown.
From stardust we are born,
To stardust we shall return,
A brief flicker of existence,
A spark in the eternal churn.
We ponder the meaning of life,
Our purpose, our reason for being,
But the answers are shrouded in mystery,
In the darkness of our own seeing.
We live, we love, we laugh, we cry,
We experience joy and pain,
We create, we destroy, we strive,
We leave our mark on the world, in vain.
For in the end, all is fleeting,
All is vanity, all is dust,
We are but shadows in the night,
Our lives, a mere wisp of a gust.
Yet, in the face of our own mortality,
We find the courage to persist,
We find hope in the face of despair,
We find love in the midst of the abyss.
For even though we are but fleeting,
Even though our lives are but brief,
We can still make a difference,
We can still leave our mark, in relief.
We can choose to live with purpose,
We can choose to live with love,
We can choose to make a difference,
We can choose to leave the world a better place, above.
So let us embrace our existential evanescence,
Let us live our lives to the fullest,
Let us make the most of our brief time on this earth,
Let us leave our mark, before we turn to dust.
