Evil Eyes
Part of you fit in my life but other other bits do not.

Evil Eyes
Nobody feared your quiet presence
Nobody stepped away in time
Your smile belonged in family photos
Your thoughts belonged somewhere unseen
Your eyes held rooms with hidden doors
Places nobody could reach
You listened more than others did
Then turned weakness into speech
You never raised your voice in anger
Never looked cruel in the light
Yet every kindness carried something
That arrived much later at night
People trusted what they noticed
Never what they failed to see
Darkness rarely enters loudly
It asks for tea politely
You watched and waited with patience
Collected pieces left around
Building stories in your silence
Without making any sound
One by one the truth unfolded
Slow enough to stay ignored
Until everybody realised
What those careful eyes stored
Now every photograph feels altered
Every memory rearranged
Funny how a pair of eyes
Can leave a whole house changed
