This is the longest poem I've written thus far, but please read until the end, it's worth it,
The '~' a indicates a stanza break
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Every night.,
She went
To look.
Every night,
She looked
To stare
~
As the
Girl would
Stare,
At the
Gleaming
Object,
In the sky.
~
Every night,
She would
Go,
to look.
Every night,
She would
Bask,
In its light.
~
As the
Moon
Changed.
Growing,
In the
Sky.
~
As
Every night,
She would
Adore
The moon.
As
Every night,
The moon
Would grow.
Slow,
and steady.
~
As the
Moon
Grew In size,
She felt
Peace,
bellow
It’s silver
Light.
~
As
Every night,
She would
Watch,
With
Glowing
Delight.
As
every night,
The light
Never ceased,
To amaze.
~
As the
Girl
Watched,
Seated on
the grass.
She felt
Peace,
Under
It’s light.
~
As
Every night,
It grew,
and
grew.
As
Every night,
Passed
Until,
It was
full.
~
As she
Saw,
that
Beautiful
ball,
A longing
Apeaired.
But
of what
She longed for,
She
did not know.
~
Then
Every night,
The moon
Would shrink.
Then
every night,
She shed
A tear.
~
As she
When out,
Every night
Just
To watch,
Her friend
Dissipear.
~
But
Every night,
She
would sill,
Watch the sky.
But
Every night,
She
Would still,
Wait.
~
As she
Waited,
The moon
Waited
as well.
Before,
Apering
Once more.
~
That night,
She
Saw
a sliver.
That night,
Her tears
Were
Of joy.
~
As the
Sight,
Of
Her friend,
Her
Heart swelled.
And she
Cheered
With glee.
~
And
Every night,
She watched
In awe.
And
Every night,
She watched,
Her love
Grow.
~
As she
grew,
She changed,
So she would
Stay up
With the moon.
And sleep,
During
It’s sister’s
Share.
~
Over time,
She would
Gladly
Watch
It grow.
Then,
She would
Sadly,
watch it
Shrink.
~
And,
Each time
It
went away,
It hurt.
Even though
She knew,
That It
would
Come back.
~
That was
The game
That they
Played.
As the
years
Went by.
~
It came,
And it went.
It Came,
and it went.
~
Until
One night,
It
did
Not return.
~
Her love,
Her world,
Was gone.
~
And
She cried.
And
She cried.
And
She cried.
~
And
All She
Could do,
Was
cry.
~
Until,
There was
Soft
silver light.
And
the woman
Looked up,
To see
A stranger,
Who
Didn’t feel
That strange.
~
Her silver hair
Was laced
With stardust,
Emitting
A gentle glow,
In
The dark,
Moonless
night.
~
Do you
Know
Who I am?
~
Her voice,
Was
Soft
and loving.
~
Her tears stopped,
As
Her eyes
Went wide.
~
You are
The moon
~
Her voice,
Was
Barely
A
Whisper.
~
She nodded,
And
As She did,
The starlight
In her hair,
Danced
In the dark.
~
And She,
Nelt down
Infront
Of her.
Whipping
The tears,
From
Her cheeks.
~
Eyes
meet
eyes.
Ethereal silver,
meets
Earthly brown.
~
Within,
Those
Silver disks,
She could
See herself,
Blossoming.
From
The girl,
Who was
Afraid.
That
the moon,
Would not
Return.
To the
Grown woman,
Who
Still now,
Watches
The moon.
~
As you
Have,
Been watching
Me.
I have,
Been watching
You.
~
You
keep me
Company,
While the others
Slumber.
~
The moon
Placed a kiss,
Between
Her brows.
~
As she felt
The moon’s Lips
Upon her head,
It felt,
Both
Cold,
Like the night.
And
Warm,
Like the light.
~
It was just
What she
dreamed,
It would be.
~
All,
That
She had
Longed for,
Was
Right
In front
of her.
~
And gently,
She closed
the gap
between
their lips.
~
The woman
Had Melted,
From
Pure joy.
~
But
The moon’s
touch,
Became faint
As She
pulled away.
~
As much,
As I’d
Like
To
stay.
I
fear,
I
Cannot
Hold,
This
Form,
For
much
longer.
~
Tears
Filled her eyes
Once more.
~
But
My love,
I can,
Take you
With me.
~
You can,
Become a star.
And we,
Could be
Together
Forever.
~
She kissed
The moon,
Before
She gave
Her reply.
~
I would
Like,
Nothing more.
~
With that,
The two
ascended,
Up
InTo
The
Sky.
~
And now
Each night,
They bask,
In
the other’s
Light.
