Oh gasping and screaming we emerge at birth,

Terrified, we hang on and ride the world’s girth.

Pounding heartbeat and fists to make a dent,

Through love, life and death we lament.

Leaving a legacy of laughter and tears on this Earth.

Just sitting on the pier with my dog casting a line out with some live bait, sipping a beer and puffing a smoke, like everyone else.
