Ever-evolving Iggy

Change is our only constant, and it behoves us to be adaptable, especially in these trying times.

Dinosaurs, like all reptiles, could adjust their lifestyles to meld with changing circumstances. They could camouflage, had the tools necessary to help them with shifting circumstances and were quite ready to do what was necessary to survive.

Few creatures are as adaptable as the distant cousin of the friendly iguana that we know, the iguanadon. It could conform to shifting circumstances in its environment with the help of its versatile diet - this dino wasn't fussy about the plants it ate. It also relied on its robust physique and support system of other iguanadons to cope with hostile changes.

In view of how our circumstances shift constantly these days, this dino can teach us a thing or two. We can embrace versatility, resilience and a reliable support system.

Verdant grass, tall and green

Plants rife, robust, so all may live

Iggy stands, amid lush sheen

Ready to change, ready to give

Foilage rich, Iggy chews

Eats all leaves, range of shapes

Learns to shift with time, things new

For lush greens, calmly waits

Other dinos join the feast

Of greens, foilage varied

Bellies full, hunger eased

They eat their fill, unhurried

iggy grows amid the greens

Prepared for ever-shifting hues

He flourishes though they change their sheen

Embracing all leaves new.
