captured like a painting

the skyline leaves me wanting more

sketches of a grand design

somewhere I have been before

spiderwebs like blankets

swirling clouds of milky haze

fallen leaves make pathways

singing songs each step I take

marmalade and crimson

dance a dance upon the breeze

mocking birds will sing a song

recalled mimicry, with ease

technicolor sunsets

the fog sinks, blanketing the ground

softening my senses

the moon in velvety skies drown

blue-gray skies roll by

to frog and cricket lullabies

October flashes sullen eyes

as her clouds begin to cry

the rain begins to chill

preparing still, another form

landing on the sill

clinging the window to stay warm

all too soon the leaves give way

as the trees fall fast asleep

while in their slumber, sway

a wonderland waits in their dreams
