In ancient times, in Bethlehem,
A light shone bright, a precious gem,
A child was born, both meek and mild,
Jesus Christ, the holy child.
He walked on earth with grace and love,
A gift to man from God above,
He healed the sick and raised the dead,
With gentle touch and words he said.
"Come unto me," he softly spoke,
To hearts that longed, to spirits broke,
With parables and wisdom true,
He taught of love, both old and new.
Upon a hill, a cross he bore,
For sins of man, our pain he wore,
With outstretched arms, he took our place,
A sacrifice, a boundless grace.
Yet death could not this Lord confine,
He rose again, in power divine,
A beacon bright, our Savior's rise,
He reigns eternal in the skies.
O Jesus, Son of God most high,
Your love for us will never die,
In you, we find our hope, our peace,
Our faith in you will never cease.
With every breath, we sing your praise,
And follow you through all our days,
O Christ, our King, our guiding light,
Lead us through the darkest night.
