It’s time for MERIENDA

Buttercream Pillow-soft

Bread of heaven in mouth

Sugar crystalline flirts

With cheese melt of delight

A treat for the taste buds

Good God, ENSAYMADA

MERIENDA” is a word for a snack typically consumed in the afternoon in southwestern Europe (Spain, Portugal, Italy, France), Latin America, the Philippines, North Africa, and Brazil. There are various terms for this depending on the culture. Nonetheless, eating merienda, wherever I may be in this world, is an exciting part of the day for me!

ENSAYMADA” is the name of a sweet and savoury pastry commonly eaten in southwestern Europe, Latin America and the Philippines.

Another variation: Matcha Ensaymada. Matcha = Green Tea from Japan. (Image Source: Google)
