Wild and free can never be tamed
Exploring free will is the aim of the game
No more hiding who I am out of fear or shame
Others can talk about me behind my back
Even spill close-held secrets in my name
But no matter how you spin it
You spit your venom in vain
I watch you tear people down
Instead of building them up
Claiming knowledge that overflows
From some grand esoteric cup
You turn your nose up at others
Because you think that you're above us
But you're just as petty as the rest
However, I confess, it's no contest
we are not each other's opponent
Just see your flaws, now, and own it
As you ignore advice you once gave me
To be honest with others more lovingly
I took those words deep to heart
I practiced them each day
Only to realize we are all the same
No one knows more
Than anybody else
We are all lost in confusion
Separated from ourselves
Pushing for more division
From the oneness that is you
Passing off your judgement
To the ones you deem “untrue”
Who are any of us to judge
A life that's not our own
That's not your heart and soul
This is not your flesh and bone
It's not for me to determine
what is best for you
My mission is encouraging
others to be true
To themselves and their existence
To show up exactly as they are
To not hold anyone's opinions
Too closely to their heart
To chase their passions
With relentless desire
Pouring energy into what they love
Before they too, expire
Before they look back
With nothing left to show
Except a crutch made out of grudge
And the emptiness of a soul
Where regrets formed, instead of bonds
As we drowned in our abandonments
And found ways to be an island
Turning away all help that was sent
While you can't help those
that won't tread their own water
To look down on them instead
Is a misstep, you'll surely falter
They will miss the point
Of the great words that you speak
Turning wisdom into toxins
With no way to stop the leak
Of soap box information
Where you mounted your high horse
And set your sights to be above
Ego-driven, on par for the course
We forget why life is scary
Why we choose “comfortable” lies
Over truth we accept manipulation
Instead of love, our pride does rise
There’s so much to existence
Is this really what you choose
To focus on with much persistence
Is this how you will live your truth?
