For once I want to silence the messenger.

Point click undo and rewind.

Breath taken back.

Home base

safe.

Ideas flowing

like second chances.

Everything is once again easier

and freedom’s path stretches horizon-filled before me

wielding words between seeking seas

on moon predicated tides.

No worries.

Soothed.

But reality

is interrupting insistent

ignoring my do not disturb.

A circle of peace breached by gathered storm

concealing destruction on virtual paper

making it difficult to believe.

Eyes I close.

Shattered.

Soul now shaken.

Inaudible murmurs expected side effects

stemming a catastrophic sudden and uncontrolled arterial bleed.

Risking limbs to save torso.

Heart to beat

one more

story

sorrow sacred

for the Teller of Tales.

Thank you for taking the time to read my poem.

It is in dedication of my dear friend, sounding board, writing buddy, and confidante Tom Bradbury. Although I will miss him more than words can say, I believe that he is now in a place where he can happily tell stories all the time near family, the four-legged friends he's been needing, and some very special sheep that will never leave his side.
