“Empty Host”

Sitting in a ghost not much here

It’s kinda like talking to a host

Like speaking out from the heart

But all that is being televised is lies

I am not sure when we did depart.

Though I see our lives,

Fragile and vandalized

Reasons we can’t deny were mirrored

Amongst scattered lives moved apart.

Nightmares did play their part,

In trying to destroy this fragile heart

Believe me when I say

Healing is sometimes dealing

Dealing with our broken chords.

A slight of act or change of tact

Maybe both parts need in fact

Lay down their knives admit

That both sides got battered in this

Dance and song that neither should

Have played along.

Instead maybe they should have

Taken time to recognize that

Forgiveness is when two hearts

Two halves of the same one,

Weep, sweep, then carry on.

That’s how to resolve and absolve

before pushing too far gone..

I dance along, with my ghost,

Sometimes with my host or ghost

Then back to life, if only at haste

But it’s a crawling pace

When improving not dissolving

Who we are…
