There’s a light in your eyes

like an ever glowing ember.

A thousand fires have raged

inside your soul

and your eyes have seen each one.

Mirrors that shine

and showcase

old souls dancing with time.

There’s a glimmer in your eyes,

the light of a dying star

Reborn every time you wake.

Completing the constellations in the cosmos

with just a glance.

There are stories

read by candlelight

told with every look you give

and novels to be finished

every night when you slumber.

There’s a glow in your eyes

that has guided me home

Time and time again.

Thank you so much for reading! If you enjoy this work, I have plenty of others poems and essays to read here on vocal, check them out and subscribe and support an autistic writer!
