Egregious Everyday Evils

Notice!

Attention yon readers and partakers of art

who fancy some satire, some candor, some dark.

In a place you don't want to go, nor even dream of

are gathered all the things big and small we can scream of.

Egregious everyday evils of which there are many,

though this year we’ll focus on 12, which is plenty.

One vilified atrocity, vexation, or torment

shall emerge each month to everyone’s lament.

Each of these accompanied by grotesquely accurate illustration

gathered from survivors, last words and hallucination.

Put on display to regard or not.

Regardless they subsist in the depths of our thoughts,

and to the displeasure of some any day of the week,

may be as palpable and present as you or me.

So mark time in anticipation for their inopportune arrivals

until which I wish all a pleasantly mundane survival
