Egregious Everyday Evil #3-March

Gnomoney the Gnome

Whether in the forest or on the streets,

there’s an insatiable little being who only eats

the cash in our pockets, our wallets, and banks;

whether under our mattress or in the fish tank.

He sniffs out the money and makes it a snack;

although his stature is small, his appetite has no lack.

He has a funny hat and a long green beard,

which if he didn’t eat money might seem weird.

Where exactly he comes from no one’s aware,

but one thing is for sure, there’s no cash left there.

He slips in and out, all over each town;

seeking out money and chomping it down.

We’re all left wondering, “Where does it go?”,

each time that our account balance gets low.

We may think that we’ve overspent, or paid off the bills;

but it’s just this hungry gnome eating his fill.

This greedy, green, glutton gobbles up cash every place he goes;

Gnomoney the gnome, I hate you so!
