"Eye-Flash"
Shut your eyes
Close yourself
Block out the light of day
Feel....don’t search,
Do not reason, in this moment....simply let be
Listen, soak it in
Echoes pounding in your core, senses dancing with the wind and across your skin
Space and time is far...so far away, yet it is all that you see
Meaningful images will appear to you
They will come...and they will flee
The infinite is in front of you, it stares you down, it shrinks you...it consumes you
It is frightening, it is outside of the world you know
But be still, do not evade it....do not let the world’s light pierce into your being
No..you must embrace it, wrap yourself inside it, lose yourself in it...
The darkness is the only thing that gives you the light
For in that instant, when you open the gateways of your soul
It is then, just then, that you know that you are, that you live
Seize the sounds, pound the silence...
Taste the sugar in the air, the current in each breath..
Squeeze the cold, let the chill dive down your spine
In this moment there is only you
When you shut your eyes, you see that which only you can see
Things which none whom have come before you or whom have yet to come will ever see
There is no safer place than this
For when your eyes awaken and you open yourself again to the light
It is right then, in that fraction of a second, that you are most alive
It is when you are most human
Scholars and men of science may tell you otherwise...but I must ask..
What could be more real, more true than the things you see without your eyes?
Sometimes, clear sight is only seen through closed eyes
"Somber Silence"
Can you hear it?
Surely you can feel it
It is there, it is always there
But rare is it that you stop to see it
Beneath the noise it remains, still, unchanging
It is gentle but haunting, soft yet terrifying
It was at beginning and will be in end
A more mysterious thing you will not find
It is the reason you question your existence
It is so simple yet arouses that most complex
It is all too real yet poses as an illusion
It is unreasonable
In anticipation you will wait, wait a very long time for something to break it
You will seek logic, you will search reason, you will yearn for matters of the heart
Your air will flow thin as you grow mad from within
For in vain you will wait for Truth to arrive
Absurd it is, cruel, brutal, unethical, unbelievable, this you will say
Your core will shiver
Like a long cold night waiting for the morning light
You will lay still, in agony
It is a most dangerous foe
It will not argue, it will not fight, it will not answer..
Instead it sits, it watches, it surrounds you, yet remains unseen
You will search in desperation for but a glimmer of meaning
But is strikes you with the weight of its meaninglessness
You yearn for a sound, a whisper, an echo...
But you are but an island of matter in this ocean of emptiness
Though there may be no greater existential terror,
Much like a whisper, Truth speaks loudest when in the presence of silence
"Ego's Odyssey"
Ego is a funny guy, he's quick with words, and little lies
He's never wrong, he's big and strong, believes he cannot die
Ego's a ladies man, he makes believe he understands
He knows the game, he does the dance, but never takes the chance
Ego's blazing through the sky, chasing dreams and archetypes
Flying high and having fun, but too close to the sun
Ego smokes his cigarette, and lives his life with no regrets
He drives a truck, makes his own luck, and never gives a fuck
Ego's still a teenage boy, and thinks the world is his own toy
He breaks the rules, he plays it cool, but never sees the Truth
Ego's got life figured out, he never leaves much room for doubt
He builds his own reality that no one else can see
Ego man I like your style, but we've been at this for a while
You've kept me young, both free and wild, but you killed my inner child
Ego it's been quite a ride, but I think it's time you let me drive
I'll show you things you've never seen, across this galaxy....
