Echoes of Yesterday

The Scarcity of Lasting Relationships

The renewal of a rare connection

Once we were close, bound by trust,

A bond so strong, we felt a rush.

We shared our secrets, rare and few,

And thought our friendship was brand new.

~~~
But now we stand, with awkward grace,
Our friendship torn, a changed embrace.
We talk in whispers, eyes downcast,
Our words so careful, so unsurpassed.
~~~

The memories linger, sweet and bright,

Of laughter shared in the dead of night.

We'd talk of dreams, and love, and life,

And everything seemed to just feel right.

~~~
But now we stand, divided, rare,
Our friendship lost, beyond repair.
We’ve each moved on, with little care,
And left the past, just a distant flare.
~~~

Yet still, I find myself drawn back,

To times we shared, and all we lack.

For though our friendship may be rare,

It's worth the effort, and I’ll repair.

~~~
So here I stand, with open heart,
And ask for your forgiveness, play a part.
In rebuilding what we once had,
And making our friendship strong and glad.
~~~

So let us start, with a new beat,

And make this friendship, complete.

Let's bask in memories, once again,

And let our love, a new journey begin.

~~~
For you, my friend, are rare and bright,
And though we've changed, we still ignite.
That spark within, that love so true,
And I’ll cherish it, for always, for you.
