Poem#3 “Echoes of innocence”
That other day he stared at the mirror
It stared back at him
They said it reflects your beauty
But all those eyes said was dread
When he tried to move himself
The baleful glare would not budge
It was like another human
Chained his eyes with him
He could see his childhood trauma
Dripping down those eyes
Just like blood from mum's body
When dad came drunk at night
He tried to break free from the memory
By soaking his face in the water
The warm water yet was a reminder
Of his dad's blood when he floored him dead
