A Town Where Nothing is as it Seems

In a town hidden by majestic mountains

Deep inside a mysterious valley

Is a burgh filled with flowing fountains

Where everyone wears clothes of challis

As they go about their daily chores

No one would suspect the secrets that lurk

Behind the city’s closed doors

Hidden behind years of murk

The street full of twins, but none of them kin

Another oddity for your eyes to behold

There are no schools or nursing homes within

Because the town has no young or old

Daily, they go about their work

Tending to all their personal affairs

On the surface, everything moves like clockwork

Yet, there’s a dark, heavy current hanging in the air

Strangers notice the oddness of the town

As they hurriedly pass on through

No one living there sleeps lying down

While the hospital appears to have a skeleton crew

There’s a secret buried deep in this valley

That the townspeople have hidden for years

You won’t find the answer looking in some alley

And the truth just may bring you to tears
