Jordan wore a lovely nylon skirt on the way to the Gala...but the static made the fabric keep clinging to his backside.

The synthetic material could not quite agree with the overall behavior of the outfit and his stockings.

There was too much of a smooth surface....Inviting the buildup of static electricity, it just loved the especially dry conditions of his attire.

Jordan tugged and pulled...

separated and swore - sparks flew...expletives a'plenty sung upon the evening air. Still, they were no match for the notorious clinging of the nylon, which are really poor spark conductors, but can accumulate static electricity, due to its high triboelectric rank, when smooth surfaces allow for efficient electron transfers of frustration.

Joseth,

walking beside him, had the same problem. She too was sparking and getting bites like a mosquito's sting. They had bought matching skirts and stockings.

Tug, pull, separate.....Static/ Tug, spark...pull, separate....Static/ Tug, pull, separate. Sparks of electricity ruled the night.

Static Sparked Expletives... which all converged...

all evening on the walk to the arena.

"I just can't take it anymore, Joseth. This skirt is getting on my nerves"!

"But what can we do. All the stores are closed now, and we can't go back home.".

"Never say never dahling...there is always something we can do".

Jordan reached down, and purposefully yanked the skirt to his knees...

snap, popple...crack

static....static...and one final spark...

He swore indignantly, and stepped right out of it. Not to be outdone...static tried to static like a crazy dry nylon ~ but sadly, lost the fight.

"God, I feel so free"!

Joseth cocked her head sideways...laughing hilariously at his free and exposed bum.

"Touche my friend...touche would the spark yet say. What a clever way to get back at the sparkly thing".
She reached down, yanked the skirt to her knees...static....static...and stepped right out of it.

With a final mosquito spark, static had the last word.

"Mother....". She swore, as electricity bit her finger.

"Ah yes, me too, so free".

They both laughed, flinging the offending skirts to the wind.
