Dreams of a New Earth
A Song of hopefulness and love
I had a dream last night
A world of awakened human beings
Dancing free in the light
No longer prisoners to their feelings
People possessed of perfect sight
No longer in fear sent a-reeling
----
Wake up
Wake up
Wake up
There’s only this moment
Stand up
Stand up
Stand up
And seize this moment of now
-----
I had a vision clear
Of a joyous coming dawn
Where wiped away is every tear
Where men are never made as pawns
Where no one lives in fear
Running through fields like a newborn fawn
----
Give up
Give up
Give up
False gods you have made
Rise up
Rise up
Rise up
Live in this moment of now
----
I had a thought this day
Why can’t one man change the world?
What would he have to say
To every boy and every girl
Why can’t love find a way
For icy hearts to melt and curl
Bring up
Bring up
Bring up
The heart of your brother
Send up
Send up
Send up
This holy message to God
-----
It’s up to you, it’s up to me
We can create a world that’s free
We can save each and every brother
We can love one another
We can create a time of peace
A place where love will never cease
We can write a new lease
And live eternally
in
this moment of now.
