In slumber's grasp, I wander through a land
Of fantastical, ethereal strands
Where anything and everything's in hand
And all my heart desires, it understands
A world where I can soar like eagles do
And swim the seas with dolphins by my side
Where laughter echoes in the morning dew
And all my dreams and wishes come alive
It's where I find my peace and find my love
Where I can be whoever I desire
Where I can dance beneath the stars above
And feel my soul set on fire
And though I know I'll wake from this delight
I carry it with me, day and night.

“Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?” I paused, stunned and dumbfounded. Whenever people asked me that question, I had visions laid out before them. I had detailed and vivid descriptions of the person I aimed to become and the future I wanted to create. I would speak with unwavering certainty, my future stretching out before me with endless possibilities. That question was something I could answer in a blink of an eye. But now, I can’t answer it. I don’t have an answer anymore.

Flags flew freely in the summer breeze. They consisted of a gray and white human brain against a black background. Scales of gold sat just overtop the image of the organ. The sun rose at just the zenith and shared its light and warmth with the attendees to one of the country-states’ greatest accomplishments: the graduation of two women who had been in a halfway house and found their passions for art design and communications. Mala and Sheltham looked on with sunglasses and cheered the graduates. With the knowledge they had months to go before being up on that stage, they looked at each other and grinned. After the ceremony, they walked into a pizza restaurant that fit their budgets.
