Doubt and Spirit

A Poem

There existed a marriage between Doubt and Spirit.

No, it’s not strange.

There’s no need to fear it.

Once upon a time, when the wind was cool and dead,

Doubt brought itself to life,

It’s fate guided by thread.

Spirit flowed through the summer’s sun,

She knew the pathways to every place

Her heart beating like a drum.

One night they met, when the Moon shone bright

And to Doubt, songs of Spirit

Caused His life to alight.

To Spirit, the life in front of Her burst with desire,

She didn’t know why, but at the moment,

She didn’t fear the fire.

Their union gentle and soft,

Felt the powers of the seas and the woods,

It drove the evils away and off.

But one day, their bond came to an end.

Doubt blamed Himself,

And Spirit vanished to defend.

What caused all this?

I wish I knew.

But one thing is for certain:

They both live

Inside me and you.
