Don’t Chase Me Please I Am Taken

You smile at me across the room,
I know exactly what you mean,
You straighten up your pretty dress,
And make sure you are seen.

You bring your coffee to my desk,
Though I never asked you to,
You laugh a little louder now,
At everything I do.

You tell me that my wife is lucky,
I tell you I am too,
For every morning when I wake,
She makes my whole world new.

Don’t chase me please I am taken,
There’s no space inside my heart,
She filled it long before you came,
And claimed its every part.

You might be young and beautiful,
And turn another head,
But mine goes home to loving arms,
And shares our marriage bed.

I wear this ring because I chose her,
Not because I have to stay,
And I would choose that woman twice,
If I married her today.

So keep your kisses for another,
Save your perfume and your charms,
There is only one place I belong,
And that is in her arms.

Temptation doesn’t tempt a man,
When everything he needs,
Is waiting in the woman
Who has shared his life and dreams.

My wife has seen my worst days,
And loved me through them all,
She stood beside me quietly,
Whenever I would fall.

So don’t chase me please I am taken,
There’s nothing here to win,
My garden already has its flower,
And I’m not letting another in.

You can call me old fashioned,
But I know what love should be,
One woman has my wedding ring,
One woman carries me.

So thank you for the compliment,
But understand my life,
There’s only one woman for me,
And darling, she’s my wife.
