Don't Turn Around

I won't live inside the past.

I will not live inside the past

Although its echoes sometimes last.

I walk ahead, though roads are steep.

With all I am and all I keep.

As my shyness began to leave.

In myself I learned to believe.

I tried to do the best I could

And live the way I knew I should.

Who I am I am meant to be.

I see myself like God sees me.

Every time I make a wrong choice,

I seem to hear an inner voice.

I accept myself, and I trust God's plan.

I've become my own strongest fan.

I know that I can reach each dream

No matter how hard it may seem.

Shadows won't follow me again

Though past mem'ries still give me pain.

I will not quit no matter what

And trust the wisdom of my gut.
