Don't Let Me Drive
or, Life Isn't Supposed To Make Sense; So Forget the Destination, and Enjoy the Journey

Driving long distance with nothing to look at
In an infinite cycle of boredom – ugh, nausea — trapped, my
Senses spiral. They whir frenetically like a…
Train Station! The bustle of acoustically charged hubbub bouncing off of linoleum vibrates the snail in my ears — Oh no, some poor kid lost their balloon. I wonder how many balloons there are in outer space —
Rooted somewhere in my psyche, I know the ruckus isn't real. But the noise; so loud!
Asphalt ahead, asphalt behind, ass —
Cows!
There! Look at those two! They're — oh...
I'll just give them a little privacy — ope, there goes another insect to the windshield; that's eleven so far.
Overcompensating for ennui, the brain makes its own entertainment to block out the odious white noise of monotony. Speaking of noise, how about some music? Dancing Queen, young and sweet, only seventeen —
Never give me the wheel on a road trip. The journey was pretty exciting though, right?

Great poem. The pic even more intriguing and hilarious! https://hesgoal.app/
The second line gave me a physical reaction. Road trips or long drives are wonderful and horrible at the same time.
Wow,🙌 I especially enjoyed how you juxtaposed the mundane aspects of the journey with moments of unexpected intrigue, like the lost balloon and the encounter with cows. Well done!!!💕👏
Cows! Lol, that is soooo me! I have to always say it any time I see a cow, especially while driving. Loved your acrostic! I've subscribed to you!

A hysterical stream of consciousness poem! Awesome!
Very funny 😄
Funny!
This is so... familiar... LOL. Very good job. Not quite an udder disaster... (That was merely a cow joke). I like this post. Best of luck.
Cows! A mandatory road trip call out! Very fun :)
Honestly, this sounds like a pretty fun roadtrip - even if this is just the car part 🤗 I feel like you would be fun to ride with. I'm definitely one to stare into outer space and wonder about the balloons! 😅 Awesome take on the challenge; this is definitely full of distractions! Congrats on a well-deserved Top Story!! 🤗
Very well written! It sounds like many of the road trips I have taken from Oklahoma to Kansas when I lived in that part of the county. Cows and run down old houses with no roads to them in the middle of nowhere being the only entertaining thing on the drive.
Cute.
Very well done and congrats on the TS!
“I wonder how many balloons are in outer space.” Great line and the kind of question I would ask. Congrats on your Top Story!
Straight to the top!
Great poem. The pic even more intriguing and hilarious!
