As close pals.

That was how it all began.

That's what we were.

Nonetheless, he had a crush on me.

Strong, undeniable feelings.

He was failing to hide it.

______

The look he gave me,

I saw myself swimming in his eyes.

As pals, we discussed unimaginable topics.

Topics that activate our feelings.

Though we were hiding it.

The bond we had was way too deep.

______

His heart seemed to be singing my name.

However, I too was caressing him with my gaze.

His scent was always activating my pulse.

His lips invited me in.

The feeling in me,

It was as if I could kiss him right away.

______

One day, he told me a story.

It was about how he longed to be closer to his crush.

He described her as if they'd spent years together.

However, his story mirrored our friendship and his love for me.

I could tell that it was all about us.

He confessed that he longed to kiss her.

______

"I can't wait to kiss the lady."

That's what he told me.

Little did he know,

The feeling was mutual.

Yet, I couldn't say it out loud.

I was hoping that there would be a way out.

______

Yet we were just best friends.

I was hiding how I feel in his presence.

But one day, he talked.

He said something...

"You are beautiful."

Those were his words.

______

"Our friendship keeps me alive," he said.

I smiled, knowing that I felt the same.

"Don't catch feelings."

That's what I said to him.

"I already have."

He responded with a smile.

______

He came closer to me.

I shifted backwards

He held my hand.

Slowly puled me closer to him.

Holding my waist

Then we kissed.
