there's an old tale of a demon

that comes only at night

to feed off of fright.

it sleeps its soul by dawn

awakes at dusk, watches the children yawn.

as the children fall into the abyss

the demon steals away from the closet to

frighten the children from their dreams.

slowly creeping towards the edge of their bed

as the little children start to lift their heads.

the children suspect nothung and lay back down

a perfect time to reap out the clown.

creepy scratchy noises under a bed

frightens their little heads.

calls for mom callsfor dad

a quick time to dash.

slam the closet hard

watch the little children run afar.

children cry

as their parents sigh.

dad looks around

finds nothing but the ground.

parents in disbelief, as can only be

described as more than grief.

realizing the reality of now

they Call the police while wondering how

yet another missing childs poster

gets thrown out.

my task is complete

now lets find another child to eat.
