about a boy

By adaiah ★Published 2 years ago • 1 min read

i’m shattered and ripped apart

by the light you allow me put in your eyes.

you’re so open to me because i ease your pain,

but the exchange is my gruesome demise.

chasing shadows of love that we will never find.

we don’t want each other for love,

but we’d like each other to lie.

dreaming up a path that fate hasn’t designed.

each tender glance, a misleading sign.

it’s clear we’ve misaligned.
