Daydreaming on a warm and sunny day

in the middle of summer

Sitting on the beach

Tracing lines and patterns in the sand

Relaxed...refreshed...revived

Awakening those lost feelings of

Calmness. the feelings that the normal day to day suffocates

Tracing lines and patterns in the sand

in the middle of summer, away from everything

on a beautifully sandy beach

Nothing but the peaceful distraction of time ticking away

Paul, you have been spitting out so many of these and they are all AMAZING! I think this is your challenge:) This one was absolutely beautiful and peaceful! This felt like a mini vacation. Your words are a portal to another world– but next time please include a real portal. Amazing work!

  • Ah, so peaceful. I really could do with this distraction. I think all of us would! Loved your poem!

  • A zen-like distraction.

These are the moments I live for... and need more of! There is a line in a Goanna song, "One of these days, I'm just gonna lie in the sun, but right now, I'm wondering does that day ever come?" and I have always felt those lyrics to the core. That's what you have managed to capture here, Paul. A moment of stillness and appreciation... the best kind of distraction. ❤️
