Dissociation

Clouded Mind

Tears stream down her cheeks

Like rain falls down her window pane

Heart is pumping fast and strong

Like heavy footsteps pounding down the hall

He's coming;

Don't breathe, don't make a sound

Almost wish you were dead

Rather than lay in this bed

A black cloud pours into your room

The stench of familiarity soon follows

This is when you float off

Away from this soul crushing reality

Never to return the same

You collapse back down like a ton of bricks

Broken, empty

The only reaction is to question yourself;

Who am I? Where did I go?
