Conversations between we two

Unloading chaos off your chest

We danced the dance that lovers do

Until coerced to confess

That love is a game that you can’t win

Still we can’t keep ourselves from playing

You’re the grenadine, and I,  the pin

An existence detonation changes

We built the house, before the bricks

Put the horse before the cart

Throw love around till something sticks

Making a mess and call it art

There you were drunk in that bar

So far out of my league

Shooting glances and spitting sparks

Stealing my breath away from me

I could never in a lifetime guessed

I would have never dared imagined

That underneath all that finesse

Hid the intentions of a dragon

So sure I had the wherewithal

To tame the beast you had inside

A beautifully disguised wrecking ball

Left me astounded and wide eyed

Another victim left there, in your wake

Another soul, love tore apart

A warning, don't make my mistake

And keep a tight grasp on your heart

Beware the beast within the boy

The red flags that beg attention

With a monsters appetite to destroy

The best defense is prevention
