Desperate

A Poem

By Angel AdagioPublished 2 years ago • Updated 2 years ago • 1 min read

Skin to bone, there is nothing left to break down.

The void became too big to fill that you destroyed the dam holding you past behind you,

anything for that quick fix that'll do the trick.

Shed your skin like the snake you are,

put on a new one and hope no one notices how it doesn't fit.

Desperation is drowning you, but you want it to,

let it consume all you are and spit out the remnants of everything you hoped to be.

The mirror has a way to reflect what we want to see,

it is everyone around us that sees the truth.

Broken,

alone,

and desperate.
