A little bit of the money
Just so he could taste the honey
In denial we got to bargain
But a hard one he drove and it bore more pain
Now we’re left on a wasted path
An empty pot
And a broken heart
Although we’d have made it
It didn’t seem the right fit
Oh how much I wanted his earnings
But all his interests wear his yearnings
The expectations it came with
The realization to stay fit
Oh my!
If only we didn’t want this or that
We probably would’ve made the best pair
But all I saw were despair
If only we didn’t crave this or that
We may be having a tit for tat
