Desert Dusk

Grief and Lust

We two in the desert

At dusk, when souls caress

With nothing but whispers.

Beneath a blue moon,

Hot skin on cool sand

Our wild love blisters.

The thrill of your presence,

Lingering breathlessness

Drinking sweet nectar,

Whilst peering into reflections

Perhaps this is a mirage

You, a welcome spectre.

Twilight here seems eternal,

I behold your golden glow

But now I’m softly awaking

Moaning, holding on, resisting

Fighting the bedsheets

Begging to stay, I’m aching.
